[series]: Winnie the Pooh
[character]: Piglet
[character history / background]: Very little is said about Piglet's actual history, but we do know a little about his family history, insofar that the piglet had a grandfather named Trespassers Will (short for Trespassers William, aka: TW). Piglet apparently inherited his home from his grandparents, and lived there until Eeyore mistakenly found it for Owl to take up residence in (Owl was at the time homeless because of his house being devastated by extreme winds). Afterward, Piglet is invited to move in with his best friend Pooh, where he lives from that point on. Piglet has spent his life in the Hundred Acre Wood, living a quiet life of domestic past times, and visiting with the other animals (and Christopher Robin when he's able to visit, of course).

[character abilities]: Being such a very small animal, Piglet really can't do very much of anything. He gets blown about by particularly blustery days, and always seems to need assistance to get himself out of predicaments. He can however be useful by doing housework, and is often seen to be sweeping leaves from the front of his home. Also, Piglet has been shown to be able to both read and write to some extent (rather remarkable since he doesn't have an opposable thumb).
[character personality]: Kind-hearted to a fault, Piglet would likely be very easily taken advantage of, if not looked after by his many friends in the Hundred Acre Wood. He's a timid and easily frightened animal, who when stressed, is prone to stuttering and fidgeting. But because of his stature, and basic nature, he often feels helpless and in need of others assistance. It's because of this that he becomes excitable when faced with an opportunity to be useful, so much so that he doesn't stop to question the exact morality of what is being suggested. An example of this is when he happily took part in Rabbit's plot to take Tigger deep into the woods in order to lose him. Rabbit hoped to traumatize Tigger to the point that he would lose his 'bounce', and thus restore a sort of peace to the forest. I suppose you could say that Piglet is a socially driven animal, needing the support and companionship of others.
Because of Piglet's rather sheltered environment, he's a very naive animal when it comes to the realities of the world. His world has always been the forest, and without being exposed to a variety of different species or communities, his understanding is extremely limited to the only world he's known.
Despite the glaring problems associated with the occasional following of less than noble plans, Piglet is a good animal. He means well and given the opportunity, will tend to side with what is right. Piglet is an easily influenced animal when it comes down to it, and is very easily prone to following others in an attempt to be a part of what's going on. This stems from his youthful age (3-4 years old) and his lack of confidence and worldly experience. His moral compass is very simple, and even though he has done things that would be considered bad (such as his involvement in Rabbit's schemes), there never seems to be any lasting guilt or remorse for the parts he's played in such events. He doesn't see Rabbit's xenophobic and controlling tendencies as bad. It just merely is, just as everything in the forest just 'is'. Of course, Piglet would never condone actions that are violent in nature or would clearly cross the line of harming another, being the timid thing that he is. And with Pooh and Christopher Robin as companions, he's given good role models to ultimately fall back on.
[point in timeline you're picking your character from]: I'd be taking him from the Classic Disney movie 'The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh', which consists of: Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree, Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day and Winnie the Pooh and Tigger Too!

[Accidental Audio]
[The sound is almost imperceptible, a soft thud against the soft grass near the fountain square. But the immediate noise that follows breaks the silence quite loudly as a very small animal gives a startled squeak of alarm.]
P-p-p-p-p-p.... oh! Oh d-d-d-dear!!! P-p-pooh?
[It was a testament to how frightened the little piglet was that the network device was able to detect the fidgeting of his small hands.]
Oh, d-d-dear d-dear... H-h-hello? Pooh? Christopher R-r-robin? I... I seem to have g-gotten myself a bit lost. S-s-s-somebody who is not a fierce animal, I hope... h-help me?
[third person / log sample]:
Now, once there was a very small animal by the name of Piglet who lived in a modest home in the middle of the Hundred Acre woods. The home he resided in was nothing too special, but he had immense attachment to it anyway as the Beech tree once belonged to his Grandfather, and thus had a history to it.
To put it simply, he loved it... which made things all the more upsetting when his friend Eeyore led them to Owl's new home, only to find that he'd actually led them to Piglet's house instead.
He could hear the awkward tone in everyone's voices as they each commented on how Eeyore had indeed found a good home. For it was a very lovely home...
And his good friend Pooh urged him to speak up and declare that Owl couldn't have his house as it was already taken. But Piglet was very fond of Owl, just as he was of all his friends in the forest. And the thought of being homeless as Owl had been made, was just unacceptable.
Piglet above all else, loved the thought of being Useful. Especially because it was something that didn't happen very often. Everyone around him had something special about them... Pooh was well liked and despite having a very small brain, always managed to do rather clever things. Owl was an animal with vast skill in Knowing Things, and Rabbit was clever with all the ideas he'd always come up with.
Piglet went though the list, reciting to himself the various wonderful skills of the animals that surrounded him until all that was left was him. He wasn't a heroic type, being prone to fits of anxiety when faced with situations that looked dangerous. He couldn't fly, or bounce, or climb or do anything important really.
Sniffling, he fidgeted with the bib he was still wearing from Pooh's 'Hero Party', and glanced at each of his friends in turn as the awkward moment just got more and more uncomfortable. Yes, he loved his home. But... if he gave it to Owl, wouldn't that be a very noble act worth saying "Now that was a Very Special Thing to have done." or “What a very Brave/Grand/Heroic thing to do Piglet!”
The thought of suddenly finding himself homeless scared him tremendously, but surrounded by his friends, especially Christopher Robin and his dear friend Pooh... he felt the resolve building in his tiny chest to do something heroic and important. With his friends near him, he could do this. He could be an animal capable of Something Truly Big and Wonderful.
So, doing his best to hide how upset he truly was, he raised his very small voice to say "No Pooh, this house belongs... to our very good friend... Owl".
He nodded resolutely, more in an effort to convince himself that this was the Right Thing to Do, than for any conviction that this was so. Because now that the words were out of his small body, he couldn't help but worry about what was to become of him. Fear of the unknown was a very scary thing...
