Piglet's 26th Adventure

[Video Accidentally Activated]
[as a very frazzled looking Piglet shoves his network device amongst the teetering pile of junk in front of him. He wrings his hands nervously as he looks around him for more items to put against the flimsy walls of a cardboard box where's he's holed up.]

O-oh d-d-dear me!!! T-t-there's Nobody in here! N-no, nobody th-that Needs a-anything th-thrown at them, I m-mean... d-dear o-oh d-dear m-m-me no!

[Piglet jumps at the sound of someone who is clearly not himself. His little hands instinctively cover his head just in case something else will happen such as something being thrown at him.]

H-h-h-he-help???

[One never knew when someone's 'help' might be them thinking that you needed something thrown at you.]

[ Oh Piglet. You are so precious and adorable and Ariadne wants to pick you up and shield you from everyone. ]

Are you sure? I promise, I'm not going to throw anything at you. I've been trying to keep people from throwing the birds.

[He still doesn't quite seem convinced, but his paws move from his head down to fidget with the fabric of his jumper.]

[ Ariadne sets her device down for a moment, and then reappears with a bird perched on her shoulder. ]

This is Waffle. He's a good friend of mine. [ And a smile; calm, reassuring. She's not going to hurt you. She promises. ] And I'm Ariadne.

[Piglet lets out a little shrill squeak and covers his head again.]

A b-b-bird!

Oh-- no, hey, it's okay. He's not a throwing bird and he doesn't mind pigs. [ Actually, she's fairly certain that Waffle has never met a pig in his life, but that's not the point.

Here, see? Waffle is flitting off now, going to perch elsewhere in her room. ] I promise.

Oh, good! I was w-worried... W-Waffles being a Bird and all.

N-not that I have any Problems with birds... Owl's a bird you see. But Owl wasn't the sort of bird that tried to Hit me.

[ Of course he is, same with Tigger and Kanga and Roo and Pooh but maybe talking about Owl will calm Piglet down a little bit. ]

I do? I mean... well, that is... I'm not as smart as Owl is. B-but I Can write!

Oh, d-dear dear... you're right! I'd best not tell anyone where I am or they'll th-throw more birds at me!

O-o-only a few times. [He reaches his arms around him in a protective gesture.]

[Piglet takes a quick look around to make sure that everything was how it was Supposed to Be. It only takes a moment but he looks up with a tentative smile.]

N-no. I think I was able to avoid most of the birds well enough. [He leans towards the device to whisper something that larger People might not know.]

You see, Small Animals... like myself... it's harder to hit us if you're not Used to hitting small animals. Large animals are easier to hit as there is So Much More of them.

[ A-aww. Ariadne meets that smile with one of her own. ] I'm glad.

[ Oh-- a secret? Even if it isn't really much of a secret, she feels honored (and maybe she's being a bit silly, but this is Piglet; this is her childhood). ]

That makes a lot of sense. I know I probably don't look it, but I'm pretty small, for an adult human. It's not fun sometimes, but it works out in our favor other times, doesn't it?

[OH GOD WHY DID NO ONE TELL HER PIGLET WAS IN THE CITY!? Of course, now that she knows, she's just going to flail internally.]

If anyone throws anything at you, let me know. Okay? Do you need someone to come and keep an eye on you?

[Piglet jumps again, knocking over some cans that were aiding his barricade.]

I think it's just a curse and it'll be over at midnight. You'll be fine. [She hopes.]

Oh yes, he can be very fierce, but he only pounces if someone is bad and trying to hurt his friends.

[...Or if he's hungry and hasn't been fed, but Bran will keep that part quiet for now.]

He could be your friend, too. And me. You don't seem bad, and we could protect you if you wanted.
